2013 Annual Convention
AUF has organised its annual convention for all its members between 30 September and 4 October in Melbourne. There were more than 250 members in total who participated in the intensive 5-day program. Selimiye Foundation and Serenity Foundation hosted this year’s convention. There were participants from NSW, Western and South Australia, Queensland as well as Victoria. Sirius College Eastmeadows Campus were used for the various lectures and workshops during the program.
The daily program started at 8:00 am with breakfast. There were five 75-minute workshop sessions everyday except the last day. The program concluded each evening at 6:00 pm with dinner. It was a great experience for teachers from all five states to sit together to discuss and brainstorm common issues.
Apart from academic discussions, moral values, social matters as well as other common issues were also discussed in the various workshops. There were more than 250 participants from 5 states, more than 120 children to care for and total of more than 400 people.
AUF would like to thank Selimiye Foundation for providing accomodation, transport, venue, food and childcare for all our interstate members. Without their dedicated staff, it would have been hard to imagine organising such a large scale program.
